Get Lucky

Get Lucky

When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other.

We all have our fair share of luck – good or bad. Question is: are you ready to get lucky? I’m no feng shui master nor star-reader, I’m just opinionated, ergo, here’s my list:

1. Cheer up.

Smile at yourself every morning as you face the mirror. See how the image grins back at you. It works the same way for the people you meet at work, school, etc. If you need to see a bright face, show it first. (Be discreet, though, at smiling in public places, you don’t want to be stalked around.) So how does that relate to getting lucky? It gets you on the positive track.

2. Give a helping hand.

Generosity is not a sin. Helping others is always a wise way to live. I believe that mankind is designed to be good, so reciprocity will almost always happen without slight force. Just do to others as you would have them do to you (not by Confucius but Luke). In the process of reciprocation, you might just meet good luck.

3. Compliment.

Look beyond the superficial. See beyond skin, size, color, fashion sense. Nothing beats compliments that hit the person’s best traits. Is she friendly? Clever? Analytical? Sensitive? Firm? Funny? See through the person’s character and you’ll find something to praise.

4. Pursue freedom.

From envy, jealousy, regret and anything that saps your positive energy. Listen not to the haunting voice of the past. Forgive yourself. Forgive those who hurt you.

5. Do what you love.

Chase for what you truly love to do. You don’t need to quit your current job to start doing what you love. Slowly, and by little deeds, you’ll get there pretty soon. Search, and start.

6. Control Yourself.

Controlling others is manipulation. Controlling oneself is wisdom. You have the best refuge when you don’t act on impulse. Observe your behavior in various situations. Diligently study yourself. Be your own critic and disciplinarian. As we grow older, fewer people would tell us how to behave. Gain control of yourself, the good kind.

Oh, I meant to come up with 10 ways.. perhaps you’d like to add some more?

Wish you good luck today!
