The Ideal Beach Vacation for Friends and Family

I discovered this hidden gem through a good friend and I have stayed at Bakhawan Beach Home twice, one was a Mother’s Day celebration with Cyd along with my friend’s family and close friends.

Playing in the sand with Gunther, a dachshund, sniffing my neck.

The beach is just a few steps away from the rooms, perfect for watching over my little one as he enjoys building sand castles while I enjoy a glass of wine.

Not only is the scenery stunning, but so is the sunset. A strong contender for “best sunset in Cebu.”

Beautiful sunset views from the patio, with a pair out for a stroll on the beach.

The property also offers plenty of shade thanks to its canopy of trees. We even enjoyed a beachside campfire with hotdogs, s’mores, and more, with music playing from the speakers of cars in the spacious parking lot.

Bakhawan Beach Home is also conveniently located near a market, making it easy for you to buy fresh seafood and stock up on groceries and other supplies.

Side Trip: Bamboo Forest in Medellin, Cebu

Another nearby destination worth visiting is the Bamboo Forest in Luy-a, Medellin, Cebu. My friend’s son, who has been to Kyoto, said the Bamboo Forest has a similar vibe to Japan’s famous Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. So if you’re looking for a serene and peaceful environment, the Bamboo Forest is worth a visit. Plus, it’s just a short drive (23-30 minutes) from Bakhawan Beach Home.

Visit this private resort, unwind and spend quality time with the people you care about most. Their Facebook page is active, so send them a message and select dates to book. Most of their weekends are booked, so hurry and reserve a spot for your group getaway.

Summary of Google Reviews on this property:

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this privately-owned property, which is now open to select families and groups. The property has a provincial and rustic feel rather than a polished 5-star resort setup. But don’t let that deter you – the caretakers are on site, and the property has a classic oriental design that is great for groups, with four air-conditioned rooms. The whole property must be rented, so it’s ideal for larger gatherings. And the nearby ocean is shallow and calm, making it a great spot for those who don’t know how to swim. Overall, this is an excellent choice for a group getaway.

The spot where Cyd sits is the same area for a campfire at night when it’s low tide.

P.S. Thanks to Mel for including Cyd and me in her vacation plans, though I usually don't want to because traveling with a toddler is stressful.
